So, my journal isn't entirely Friends Only.
I usually lock:
i) Posts with pictures of me, my family, or my friends.
ii) Very personal posts.
iii) Other posts which I feel should not be accessible to just anyone.
Tbh, I only put this up to let people know that I do have locked posts.
That being said, Hello everyone! :)
It seems that my move to the city has been beneficial, not only to my social life, but also to my academic life. I know it's only been a week and I might descend into procrastinator-land at any moment, but I have been more motivated to study this week than I've ever been the past year.
I have a feeling that it's because I feel so much more comfortable and 'at home' now that I have my own apartment. I'm not cooped up in my room all day like I used to be. I am less restricted with my actions and free of the anxiety that comes with the pressure to abide by other people's rules. I'm lighthearted and content with the fact that I don't have to worry about being a burden to others. It's an amazing feeling, one that I didn't know I'd been missing out on until only a couple of weeks ago.
Living so close to my university and not having to spend two hours a day commuting from home to school has also done wonders to how I feel at the end of the day. Not having to commute and having fewer contact hours this semester has left me feeling alot more energetic, which is great because now I'm in the mood to actually be productive with my day.
I guess the whole point of this post is to say that I'm loving this semester so far. Despite the few setbacks here and there, things have been going great :)

I think it's time for an update!
So, I am back in Australia and moved into my new 2-bedroom apartment about a week ago (although it feels like longer). Living so close to uni and the city is great. I finally get to spend more time with friends without having to worry about how I'm going to get home and how I'd have to walk alone in the dark at night. Huzzah!
I'm staying with one of my best friends and we get along great. I know people always say that living with a friend can sometimes ruin the friendship, but so far we've been agreeing on everything. Fingers crossed that things stay that way!
We're close to finally getting everything done around the apartment. All we need now is to get our fridge, stock up on food, and we should be set. We're having problems with getting our fridge, but I'm too lazy to go into details. Basically, we bought a used one from someone but some problems came up and now we're waiting to see if we can still get that fridge. I hope everything turns out okay because I really don't want to spend extra on a new refridgerator.
On other news, I've been getting good deals on used textbooks, which is great because the new ones cost a bomb. I was planning on getting this used anatomy textbook from a student who was selling it for $50, but I was fortunate enough to stumble upon a copy that was going for only $10 at the university book co-op! Definitely happy that I managed to save that bit of money.
I also signed up to volunteer at the book co-op and applied for the 1-3pm shift on Tuesdays. Hopefully I get it! I can't do any of the other shifts since I have classes then. I'm excited to work there, even if I won't get paid. I think it'll be a great way for me to meet new people (and hang out with people I already know who also work there). Plus, I need some sort of "working experience" that I can put on my resume, since I have virtually no work experience whatsoever. This should get me one step closer to finding a job that'll help me pay off some of my expenses.
Anyway, I'm going to go check on my laundry now, and then watch some more DexterityBonus on Youtube.
Till next time!

This is amazing. Posting it here so I never forget about it. Things get lost on Facebook and Twitter so easily.
By the way,
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

My Tegan and Sara 'Get Along' DVD/CD arrived today and I'm in the middle of watching the third movie "For the Most Part." Seeing as how this was made by Tegan and Sara, I knew I was going to love it. Seriously though? I love it more than I thought I was going to.
Going to watch the rest of it now. If any of you guys are Tegan and Sara fans but have not gotten the DVD yet, I suggest you go right over to their website right now and do it.

Video description: I'd like to dedicate this song to anyone who has ever been bullied for being different. We all know this is a growing problem in our society, and the only thing that will make it stop is LOVE. It takes courage to go against the grain; so let the brave ones face whatever comes their way, and let them be unshaken by their fears. I love you all.
